Compiling GT initially propelled my research1 and scratched the itch of having a freely accessible, curiosity-first way to share music whenever I met fatigued or uninspired listeners looking for a shake-up.
The research has since moved on from this stage, triggering a reevaluation of what this site has been and could turn into. Additionally, I found it necessary to recalibrate how I was/wasn't reaching you (, the reader).
We'll see what happens. Leave your email or number here to receive future updates if any. Share this site with anyone that would be interested.
Fatigue and idle wandering cancel each other out as part of an infinite cycle2. Part of the illusion relies on us mistaking our depleting energy for evidence that work is being done, that we're indeed on a journey open to the surprises and happy accidents that make the experience desirable in the first place.
To regain awareness of where you're standing is the first step. Don't take recommendations from algorithms or any cold logic outside of yourself. Put a hand on the reins and tune the other to the wind.
Re-listen to your classics and let them hold you for as long as you need. If ever curiosity hits you, follow it. If it calls you inward, go deep into the familiar looking for the spots you've missed. If it calls you outside, leave your musical home confidently and completely. Whatever direction you're stepping toward, walk into it fully until no curiosity is left3. You'll find your home has grown in depth or width, giving you more space to rest.
